Yesterday

From a friend's Facebook page yesterday (thanks Sheryl!), I posted some information on government salaries. I was surprised by all of the comments this post garnered. I know everyone who posted a comment, and I know that many of you would not see eye to eye, but it is obvious that many of you have the same concerns. This did not seem like the kind of polarizing talk I have seen of late. It seems to me, that within this nation, perhaps we ought to focus on actually finding solutions to our problems, rather than focusing on who should solve the problems. Perhaps, if we looked at our politicians, less as parts of their respective parties, and listened to their ideas individually there may be less friction within the general public. We seem to have forgotten that many of us are quite similar; we go to work, come home, take care of our families, worry about our finances, and hope that we are living in a way that promotes the ideals to which we hold fast. While I was concerned that we had all become too opposite from each other to ever agree, I see that there is hope for our country and a place for everyone to speak freely, practice their religion and create a life of one's own.
